When your walking down the street, do you notice something that's not right. Look to your left, then your right. I bet you will find something. That's right, its probably a teenager pushing a baby carriage with their own baby. Teen pregnancy has become a big problem.Three-quarters of a million teens between 15 and 19 become pregnant each year. The U.S. has have the highest pregnancy rate in the industrial world and 82% of those pregnancies are unplanned.Two-thirds of teen pregnancies occur among teens between 18-19 years old. Out of all teen pregnancies, 57% end in birth. Another 14% end in miscarriage and 29% are terminated by abortion. Having a baby can ruin your life.Teens who become pregnant are less likely to attend college. Although teenage mothers today are more likely to finish high school or earn their GEDs than in the past, pregnant teens are less likely to attend college than teens who do not become pregnant. The children from a teen mother are more likely to be born prematurely and 50% more likely to be low weight babies when compared to children of mothers whose age are 20-25 when they had their first child. The worlds youngest mother is a big shocker! Five year old Lina Medina has broken that record and still holds that record today. The baby was born by Cesarean section on May 14, 1939, Medina made medical history. What a Mother's day gift to her mother! Medina named her son Gerardo, which is the name of the doctor that attended the birth. When Gerardo was 10 years old, he found out that the person he grown up with believing that she was his sister it turned out to be his mother. I know a friend named Sonya and she is 1 month pregnant. She is only in the eight grade too and she wont be attending high school. So make the right choice and don't ruin your life by probably making the biggest mistake of your life by having a child and becoming a teen mother!
